Gift Lake Metis Settlement has a metis land base area of 84, 307 (hectares). It is one of the eight only legislated metis land base and metis governments established in Northern Alberta, Canada by legislation and protected.

There is a local gas and convenience store, as well as offering fishing and camping by the beautiful Little Utikuma Lake ( also known as Little Whitefish), campgrounds at Long Lake and a dock, Skate Park, Skating Rink, baseball diamonds and other outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.
